Hello! and welcome to our little fertility Blog, today we are talking about something so small and yet mentioned a lot through this journey, Stress.
Fertility is impacted by a series of factors, yes, but today we decided to focus on the ever mentioned “Stress”, we often hear that this specific factor can impact your chances when trying to conceive and some studies show that stress and anxiety may impact fertility.
But what does stress or anxiety have to do with anything? the simple answer is HORMONES, the release of stress hormones (like cortisol) can lead to physiological changes that impact your reproductive health.
We know going through this fertility journey is complicated and “stressful”, can managing this stress and anxiety during this conceiving period actually help getting pregnant? Studies around stress and fertility are complex, but there’s evidence that stress can impact your hormone levels and menstrual cycles, sadly, we can’t tell you for sure that managing this will increase your chances, but research shows that people that started doing something about their mental health had better outcomes, whether it was exercise, meditation, therapy (all this help manage stress and anxiety levels) or actually being less stressed the outcome was positive.
Our advice is always to consult your Doctor and talk about your options.
