When we think about freezing sperm at home, we might believe that it means just throwing a sperm sample in the freezer and hoping for the best, but that is not how it works.
A few specialist companies have come up with modern, temperature controlled at-home sperm freezing kits, which come with the tools to collect the sperm sample at home.
The specialized vials that store the sperm are cooled using liquid nitrogen until they get to about -280°F and the tank that stores the vials run at around -320°F. These extremely low temperatures allow the sperm to be preserved. They won’t age, degradate or change until they’re thawed.
